Animador, pintor, escritor y director mexicano que, junto
con su esposa y musa Sandra Aquihua, creó la serie de
televisión animada EL TIGRE: THE ADVENTURES OF
MANNY RIVERA para Nickelodeon, ganadora en varias
ocasiones de los premios Annie y Emmy. En el Instituto
de Artes de California (CalArts) creó el cortometraje
en 3D, CARMELO, que ganó el Student Emmy Award
en 2001 en animación y fue proyectado en diversos
festivales alrededor del mundo, incluyendo el Programa
de Cineastas Emergentes de Kodak en el Festival de Cine
de Cannes, 2001. En ese mismo año, comenzó a crear
JORGE GUTIERREZ’ EL MACHO, una webserie animada
para Sony Pictures. Gutiérrez también ha realizado el
diseño de personajes para muchas series animadas
incluyendo CHALKZONE de Nickelodeon, así como
¡MUCHA LUCHA! deWB, y THE BUZZ ONMAGGIE
de Disney por el cual fue nominado al premio Annie en
2006 como mejor diseño de personaje. Como escritor,
ha trabajado en MAYA &MIGUEL así como en BRANDY
&MR. WHISKERS de Disney. Gutiérrez ganó dos premios
Annie (por Mejor Programa de Televisión y Mejor Diseño
de Personaje de Televisión) y un Emmy (por Mejor Diseño
de Personaje de Televisión) trabajando en EL TIGRE.
También creó algunos de los bocetos de MAD para
Cartoon Network. Recientemente, Gutiérrez co-escribió
y dirigió la ópera prima animada THE BOOK OF LIFE
(2014) para Reel FX y 20th Century Fox. Ganó su primera
nominación al premio Golden Globe a Película Mejor

JORGE GUTIERREZ´ EL MACHO, an animated web
series for Sony Pictures. Gutierrez has also done character

CHALKZONE, as well as WB’s ¡MUCHA LUCHA!, and
Disney’s The Buzz on Maggie for which he was nominated
for a 2006 Annie Award in character design. As a writer,
he’s worked on Scholastic’s MAYA &MIGUEL as well
as Disney’s BRANDY &MR. WHISKERS. Gutierrez won
two Annie Awards (Best TV Animated show & Best TV
Character Design) and one Emmy (Best TV Character
Design) working on EL TIGRE. He also created some of
the sketches in Cartoon Network’s MAD. Most recently,
Gutierrez co-wrote and directed the animated feature THE
BOOK OF LIFE (2014) for Reel FX and 20th Century Fox. He
earned his first Golden Globe Award nomination for Best
Animated Feature Film in 2014.
