Periodista y productor cinematográfico. Ha realizado
diversas produciones nominados al Oscar incluyendo
FARWELL MY CONCUBINE (1993), CENTRAL STATION
(1998), CITY OF GOD (2002) y THE CONSTANT
GARDENER (2005). Es ahora mejor reconocido por sus
trabajos en América Latina como en Brasil y Bolivia.
Desde 1976 a 1988, Ranvaud enseñó en la Universidad de
Warwick y en la Universidad de East Anglia, durante este
tiempo también trabajó como periodista para la MFB
SIGHT AND SOUND, THE GUARDIAN, LA REPUBLICA,
CACHIERS DU CINEMA y fundó una revista de cine
independiente que editó y redactó hasta 1988, publicó
varios libros de cine italiano y dirigió varios artículos de
documental para la revista C4. Donald ha continuado
descubriendo cineastas y ayudándolos a tener
acceso al mercado. Es un embajador para la industria
cinematográfica de Latino América y recientemente ha
abierto un instituto de teatro en Yotala, Bolivia.

He is now better known for his work in Latin America,
Brazil and Bolivia. From 1976-1988, Ranvaud taught at the
