Dos veces ganador de la Academia, Wexler fue llamado
uno de los cinematógrafos con más influencia en la
historia del cine. Ganador de Oscars tanto como en
films en blanco y negro, y a color, por ¿QUIÉN LE TEME
A VIRGINAWOOLF? (1996) y ESTA TIERRA ES MI
TIERRA (1997). En 1993, Wexler fue Premiado por una
vida de logros por LA SOCIEDAD AMERICANA DE
CINEMATÓGRAFOS. Recibió cinco nominaciones al
Oscar en total más un Emmy en su carrera que se ha
extendido a más de seis décadas.
Agregando a su gran carrera de éxitos cinematográficos,
ha fotografiado bastantes documentales pasados en
puntos de vista de política progresiva. Y fue participe
de un documental con su hijo Mark Wexler en el 2004
llamado TELL THEMWHO YOU ARE.
Two-time winner of the Academy, Wexler was called one
of the most influential filmmakers in the history of movies.
He won Oscars in films in black and white and color,
for WHO’S AFRAIDOF VIRGINIAWOOLF? (1996) and
BOUND FOR GLORY (1997). In 1993, Wexler was honored
for lifetime achievement by a group of filmmakers, the
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CINEMATOGRAPHERS. He has
received five Oscar nominations in total and an Emmy in
his over six decade.
Adding to his great career in film credits, he has recorded
several past documentaries in views of progressive
politics. And it was part of a documentary with his son
Mark Wexler in 2004 called TELL THEMWHO YOU ARE.
