Hewasborn inColombia. In1965hebecame
Secretaryof theCineClubofMedellin, at the
same timehefinishedhisstudiesas lawyer at
theUniversityofAntioquia. From1968 to1971he
was theDirector of theCineClub inMedellin.He
hasbeenprofessor ofCinemaat theUniversity
ofAntioquiaandmember of theCommittee
of themagazineCuadro, andcollaborator of
enCineand theCinemateca. At present he
writes for themagazineKinetoscopioand the
journal El Colombiano, he is responsible for the
Programationof the International FilmFestival
inCartagena, responsibleof theProgrammation
of theCinematecadeEPM, andProgramming
consultant of theColombianFilmFestival in
Medellinand the thematiccinema inSantaFe
deAntioquia. Eachyear, heassists toFestivals
like: the International FilmFestival inGuadalajara,
Cannes,Huesca, Toronto, SanSebastián, and
Valladolid.His love forwritinghas takenhim to
publish threebooks:Quenunca llegue lahora
del olvido (1986), Lamúsicaqueescomo lavida
(1990) yEscritoenel viento (2005).Hewrites for
the journal El Colombiano.
