He isafilmproducer, director andphotographer.
Hiscareer began indocumentaryfilmsdue to
his interest in indigenousmagic, religionand
rituals related to theuseof hallucinogens.He
travelled toNewYorkat theageof 25wherehe
enrolled in theMillenniumFilmWorkshop, an
undergroundfilmmakerworkshop inwhichhe
studieddrawingandanimationat theSchool of
Visual Arts. In1973, back inMexico, hebegan
hisworkasadocumentaymaker. Someof his
