As a result, the project received the name Talents Campus
and then evolved to just Talents. Due to the practical
and kind nature of the project, Guadalajara was selected
as one first cities to have a regional Talents for México,
Central America and Caribbean. Talents Guadalajara is
part of the selected group of worldwide Talents, with
dynamic growth and with highly positive results.
This year with participants coming fromArgentina,
Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras,
Mexico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic and Venezuela,
we reaffirms the plurality and scope that the project
contribute to the Iberoamerican panorama.
Guadalajara Talents remains truthful to its objectives by
linking together the next generation of local filmmakers,
actors and film critics by connecting themwith the
international film industry experts that visit the festival
each year.
Different short and feature films projects had emerged
from the collaboration between professionals that met
and established a creative bonding by being selected
for Guadalajara Talents. Either way, these professionals
attach to the International Talents forum from all over the
world: Berlinale Talents, Talents Buenos Aires, Talents
Durban, Talents Sarajevo and Talents Tokyo, where they
can contact each other and expand their collaborative
networks internationally.
It is notable and remarkable the increase of received
applications, becoming a challenge for the selection
committee members to whomwe express our
appreciation for their time and vision to select the most
outstanding emerging filmmakers of Mexico, Central
America and the Caribbean.
Talent Motion Studio is our new program focused
on animation, due to the interesting projection that
Guadalajara has received by its creators by contributing
with their short and feature animated films to the
international circuit placing our city as a reference in
matter of technology and animation films.
There’s still a lot of things to do to increase the quality and
diversity of our film productions. We are convinced in its
necessity and also in the creativity of its creators, this is
why Talents Guadalajara exists and will continue offering a
space for communication and creation.

Certainly the Berlin International Film Festival had a great idea
by inviting young filmmakers to assist to the Berlinale in order
for them to get in contact with the great amount of high level
professionals that attend their different activities. In fact,
these young people from the five continents were becoming students
of a sui generis intensive course of the most diverse disciplines
that conform the audiovisual language.
